I’ll be honest. I haven’t bothered to jump aboard the bandwagon that is Pokémon Go. Everyone’s out capturing weedles and I’m too lazy to find an apk to download to play over here in Canada because keeping downloads outside of the Play Store up to date can be hella annoying. However one fascinating thing I’ve noticed recently is the role the teams in the game have been playing recently. There appears to be some animosity between Team Valour and Team Mystic and it was the most interesting thing! Having read The Affinities (indeed you should read my blog post on that book literally like 2 weeks ago :), I can’t help but associate Team Mystic with the Tau, Team Valour with the Het, and Team Instinct with all the other forgotten affinities.
I think it’s really cool (and slightly disturbing) that people are grouping together in such a manner but idk. Remember it’s just a game. There’s a picture on the internet of a storefront with a sign saying that people of one team must pay double price. I’m confident its a joke but knowing people in general…
